Chiropractic BioPhysics®
“Physics applied to Biology in Chiropractic”
Chiropractic BioPhysics® or CBP® is a highly-advanced, scientific, and proven chiropractic technique whose primary goal is to optimize posture and spinal alignment, while documenting reduction in pain and improvements in functional based outcomes. Developed by Drs. Donald Harrison, Deanne Harrison, and Daniel Murphy in 1980, CBP® corrects and restores your spine back to its proper structural integrity. Chiropractic BioPhysics® combines biology, physiology, physics, geometry, and anatomy to identify the causes of your pain, discomfort, loss of mobility, and altered health. That means your diagnosis – and treatment – will be based on sound scientific and chiropractic principles. CBP® Technique has been heavily researched and to date there are over 200 published, peer-reviewed, research papers in the scientific literature.
Upon your initial consultation with a CBP® chiropractor, the doctor starts with a scientifically-based examination of your posture, spinal alignment, and function – often involving X-rays as a way to pinpoint the root cause of your spinal misalignment. Once the source is identified, a spinal remodelling program will be planned for you. This program of corrective chiropractic care will include a series adjustments, exercises, and spinal tractions that will not just reduce your pain but also correct the cause of the problem.
How is a CBP® chiropractor different from other chiropractors?
Unlike most other chiropractic techniques used in Singapore, which may limit care to relief care or traditional chiropractic management, CBP® goes one step further by also correcting the foundational cause of the problem— a loss of structural integrity of the spine and posture. This is accomplished through a combination of corrective interventions including: 1) segmental manual adjusting techniques (Diversified, Gonstead, Activator, etc.) also known as ‘chiropractic adjustments’, 2) mirror-image exercises, 3) mirror-image adjustments, and perhaps most importantly 4) mirror-image traction.
A comprehensive corrective protocol takes time—on average our practice members will spend about 45 mins to 1 hour for each session. Remember, healing takes time! While this correction requires more than the traditional 12 visits for relief care, the results are predictable, reproducible, and help to create lasting improvements rather than short term relief. Absolute Chiropractic is currently one of the only clinics in Singapore to offer true CBP® care.
